My biggest passion and creative outlet in life is music. This started when I picked up the guitar and started teaching myself when I was 13 years old. From the age of 15 to 20 I studied privately with a locally well known jazz musician. He sparked my interest in learning more about music theory and improvisation. I developed a keen interest in lead guitar and admire the styles of artists such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons, Mike Stern and Frank Gambale.
At 17 I was introduced to electronic music. I began experimenting with software music production programs when I was about 18 and have never stopped since. Upon leaving school I attended Cape Audio College where I studied sound engineering which helped immensely in developing my production skills and technical knowledge.
I am currently producing electronic music under the name Ethosphere.
I became very interested in the art of photography in 2008 when I started capturing pictures of day to day life with a 1 megapixel cellphone camera! I was living in Rio de Janeiro at the time and often found myself in interesting places and decided to start documenting the places I frequented. I have since upgraded my equipment several times and currently use a Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 17mm-55mm 2.8. As an amateur, I still have a lot to learn about the art of light and composition but am having lots of fun in the process. I specifically like documentary, travel, street and landscape photograhy and admire the work of photographers like Christian Als, Amy Vitale and Trey Ratcliff.
My photography website is currently under construction and should be finished soon.
Meanwhile, some of my earlier photos can be seen here:Ryan Rudman - Behance Network
I have been designing for the web since 2009. I have studied Web Design Technologies at the University of London but believe the best education (especially with technology which evolves as fast as the web!) comes from one's own research and hours upon hours of trial and error. I enjoy front-end design and development (although I have some knowledge of back-end too) and have a preference for clean, minimal web design.
